I checked the ingredients that didn't

They both look good, but the Rainbow lotion has a much shorter, simpler ingredient list. I think green tea extract is rated as a 2 on Skin Deep because it says it can be toxic in large concentrations. Maybe because of the caffeine? But since it is near the end of the ingredient

Silver Spring resident Sara Damelio had problem skin and found that available remedies caused uncomfortable reactions, so she created her own all-natural formulation, Combat-Ready Balm.

Patch sat down with the Silver Spring entrepreneur to learn more about her company Skincando .

Patch: Tell us a bit about how Combat-Ready Balm came to be.

Sara Damelio: I had problem skin, and found that I reacted to traditional skin care products. In the late 1990s, there were no natural skin care products readily available. I researched extensively and found out that most available lotions contained toxic preservatives, ones that people with sensitive skin were reacting to. So, I decided to make my own, and started giving them out as gifts to friends and family.

Patch: Creating skin care cream isn’t like making cookie dough, how did you learn what to use?
